Three Thumbs Up for Turkey Day!?
It’s almost upon us… The most glorious holiday of all time, Thanksgiving. I can smell the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes a day away. It does not get much better than this. Of course, there is more to be thankful for than just the feast, especially around these parts. I am of course thankful for my first Thanksgiving with my lovely wife and the blessings of our relationship. We are off to spend time with the family tomorrow, which includes my nephew, a ball of energy and joy. We love him.
There are even things to be thankful for in the world of “Two Fish” - things are going swimmingly (forgive the horrendously bad pun). I have just received the prestigious “Three Thumbs Up Award” from Von Glitschka and friends. It’s a great honor to be among so many talented illustrators and designers. If you fancy yourself an artist, head over there and post your best work. It’s a very supportive little community. Good fun, posting and sharing art. Von is an amazingly talented guy, you should definitely head to his portfolio and take a gander. I also want to note fellow award winner, Andi Butler’s (Mrs.B) work - Fun stuff.
I’ve also been insanely busy with both illustration work and design jobs. I’ve just completed a design project for Sean Clive, a musician who is putting out a project called “Amazed.” He hired Two Fish to bring life to the printed imagery of the CD and it was great fun. These are the kind of projects that really get me excited about going freelance full-time. Doing what you love, with the gifts you’ve been given is a great thing to be thankful for. (I’ll be posting some of the work in my sketchbook or in my portfolios, so be on the lookout.)
