The Scribble Guild
It’s official. Our brand new site for our brand new group of illustrators is designed, coded and is live to the public. The Scribble Guild is “a group of illustrators who’ve banded together to share ideas, new work, criticism, marketing ideas, and of course good old-fashioned friendship.” Andi Butler (Mrs.B) pitched the idea to a bunch of us and we thought it to be a perfect answer to some of our common issues and goals. The site’s launch is just a first phase in our overall plans for world domination.
The site basically consists of a group blog we call “The Big Blog” and info on it’s members. We plan on posting on a variety of topics, all focusing on illustration. I’d like to think it will be the kind of content you’d love if you’re into the same type of things we’re into. You can, of course grab a feed to the site and get the posts sent to you.
I’m really proud of the logo, design and coding on the site. The whole thing was a joy to build. Except for a few bleary-eyed late night sessions, Expression Engine made my work easier and intuitive for everyone. It remains my CMS of choice. The coding was made easier by Coda, another great help in the world of back-end lines of characters and numbers.
Head on over, leave a comment and of course see the beautiful work of fellow members: David Sones, Kathy Weller, Andi Butler, and Val Walsh!
